Pamela Stanford in MACISTE ET LES GLOUTONNES

Thanks to Mona for sending this image of Pamela Stanford [rn: Monique Delaunay]in LES EXPLOITS EROTIQUES DE MACISTE DANS L'ATLANTIDE aka MACISTE ET LES GLOUTONNES [Video title] aka LES GLOUTONNES. I really enjoy this mad composite of peplum, comedy and hardcore antics. It would be nice to have this on a double bill DVD with the other 1973 Jess Franco directed MACISTE title, MACISTE CONTRE LA REINE DES AMAZONES aka YUKA [Video title]. Both films feature German cult figure Waldemar Wahlfaart aka Wal Davis as Maciste along with US actor Robert Woods.

I had no idea Franco had made Maciste movies! I must see them! Are any available on DVD?

Not that I know of... they came out on French video back in the 80s... I got them as video dubs from gray market in French only. They are unlikely candidates for DVD release, but you never know!

Hey Bob, Anthony here again (from out of the blue). As I type this I'm partway through popping English subtitles on the DORIANA GRAY DVD (something I mooted back in the comments on your post for that films a long time ago). The English dub and German track seem very similar content wise (you can see it if you toggle between them). Once done I'll give the same thing a go with the WOMEN IN CELLBLOCK 9 DVD and maybe a couple of the other VIP titles. The print I have (a rip of the original) is missing the French track which Tim Lucas notes was probably the onset language and seems preferable to him, so I'm pondering buying a copy of the disc just to get the French audio to marry it to the English subs. This is the world of fandub and subtitling, an odd one which pays dividends for those who take time with it. Hope all is well with you. Re this Maciste flick, I recall this as one of the titles Francesco Cesari said new rights holders might have found the elements for to do a new DVD.

HI ANTHONY, good to see you here. Actually, I think the German track is the vintage one and some of it is subbed on the VIP disc extras. Too bad they didn't do the feature. I'm also very interested in the non hardcore version!
