Who is this actor and what Jess Franco-related film is this screenshot from?
Note that it's a Franco-related film. He wrote the original story and was set to direct but someone else took over. Bonus points if you can name the actual director.
All I have left to think of is Antonio Mayans. David Z got the director so he gets the bonus points. But it can't be Antonio, can it. The picture is too small for me to tell.
I wish I could enlarge the pic, Doug. Very interesting cast including Jack Taylor and Howard Vernon. It's full of Franco actors. Yes, David got the director, you got the title and Mario ID's the actor as the same one who is in SADOMANIA. At least, it looks a lot like him.
David: I see you've had as much fun with this as myself. Check out the Bianchi-Eurocine MANIAC KILLER, although that's not Franco-related. Maybe I'll do a blog on that Bad Cinema item.
Oh yes...I love love LOVE Maniac Killer! Years ago I had a little website called SADOMANIACS INC.-which was a Eurocine tribute. Maniac Killer is one of my faves because it takes all the cheapest aspects of the company (minus the chopshop factor of the splice togethers) and showcases them. Besides, you have Bo Svenson, Robert Ginty and CHUCK CONNORS side by side with Stanley Kapoul, Olivier Mathot and Commando Mengele fave, Dora Doll. I know this one has fans, it goes for good money on Ebay when the Japanese tape pops up.
Hmm...A Eurocine blog? That would be one I'd read for sure. I still have my review of the utterly bizarre and funny Men For Rent around here somewhere.
We'll be regularly reviewing Eurocine films, profiling Eurocine actors, directors, etc. Daniel is a really nice guy and he, along with the legendary Marius, have produced many interesting, entertaining films.

is it Commando Mengele? And would the actor be Christopher Mitchum
Very close, Doug. COMMANDO MENGELE was the title of ANGEL OF DEATH. Chris Mitchum is in the film. But the still is not of him.
Then it must be Fernando Rey
this is the guy from Sadomania, but don't know his name. The one that was caught with her wife in the very beginning.-
Great quiz, I love this dumb flick and it makes me laugh to see Andrea (Burial Ground) Bianchi picking up something Franco wouldn't do.
There is a great monkey in a hospital bed shot and also it is hard not to love Mengele as played by Howard Vernon!
Alright, so who is our constipated action hero?
Thanks as always for coming up with this stuff.
Not Fernando Rey, too young! Mario is the closest.

You never told us who the actor is !!! Can't wait anymore!!!!!
I'm bringing him back for another quiz.
Mario: You have the most correct answer for now. He seems to be the same actor that was in SADOMANIA.
The actor is Horst Tappert (with whom I grew up on TV as "Derrick"). To my knowledge he was in 3 Franco films:
--She Killed in Ecstasy
--Der Todesrächer von Soho
--The Devil Came from Akasava
I'm thinking it is "Der Todesrächer von Soho" in this picture.
Kind regards,
